We went to the bank this morning to make the payment for San Geraldo’s identity card renewal. His appointment is Wednesday morning at 10. We’re hoping all goes well. I will pick up my new identity card Friday morning.
Meanwhile, we continue to eat well. Segovia was mostly a feast. Of course, I enjoyed the wedding food and will soon tell you all about that. Saturday, we took a walk in the heat to Plaza Mayor. By the time we completed the 15-minute walk, we were both melting so, while I was looking up lunch recommendations that also had indoor, air-conditioned seating, SG chose a place right in front of us simply because it was there. It turned out to be an excellent choice. I’d go back to Restaurante La Concepción in a heartbeat. Those are the first four photos below (and the bar above).
SG’s office chair died last week. He nearly flipped over backwards. A new one was supposed to be delivered Friday, but the company stopped deliveries mid-day because of the heat. We stopped for coffee after the bank today and I received a call from the driver saying he was at our door. I told him I would be there in 10 minutes and he said he would complete his last two nearby deliveries of the day and then return. Another short day for him due to the extreme heat. I was home within 10 minutes and I’ve been waiting an hour. I do hope he returns. I plan to brave the heat for an hour after lunch and do a workout this evening.
Tonight, Tuesday, is The Kid Brother. Every Monday San Geraldo confuses the day and reminds me I have to call Chuck. Admittedly, I sometimes confuse the day, too, but SG will remind me three or four times. I have even jumped and called KB some Mondays as a result and he starts the chat with, “What do you want?” On SG’s third reminder last night, I gave him the look. I said, “You do realize that every time you say that, my anxiety level spikes.”
Ooh, ooh, ooh. The driver just phoned to say he’d be here in 10 minutes.
Mientras tanto, seguimos comiendo bien.

Your food pictures are interesting, especially the cooked fruit salad. Chuck is so welcoming when you call on the “wrong” day! I wonder if he gets nervous too when a call comes in? Boud
See you can cook! Keep it up, you will be making pastries before you know it. It all looks so good, why would anyone want to cook when all of this is available on your doorstep.
Oh, the food porn … and I have just finished breakfast!
Even the breakfast you made looks amazing; I think I see a “cooking” show in your future.
I’ll take your word for it that everything was tasty. It all certainly looks good. And what is a Spanish tortilla?
I will have one of each thing on today’s menu.
Thank you very much. And obviously you CAN cook. Or at least cut nicely.
I believe you could get work as a professional food photographer. I’m serious.
When I read your first line today and looked at the picture, for a second I thought, “Man. Those Spaniards really know how to make a bank welcoming!”
See, I knew you could cook! 👨🍳👨🍳👨🍳
Oh, that brass footrest!
It’s been a while since I have had gazpacho………could use some here lately with the humidity.
I like your breakfast creation!…..very healthy.
Hi to KB.
Drool! I want one of everything, especially the Spanish tortilla. The first time I had one was as a teenager that a friend’s Spanish mother cooked. Perfection. Set up my lifelong quest. So glad SG’s restaurant pick was the best. Olivia
We continue to eat well
A FUCKING UNDERSTATEMENT
lol xxxx
Oh, the food porn!
Well I want to thank you for sending some of the heat our way, tomorrow Canada Day it will be 26C. Did you speak to Mother Nature on our behalf? I always love your food photo, we will be in Spain in October and look forward to the food. Love all the dishes served and their desserts. You could be a food photographer, such talent.
Now there’s a heat wave where I am. I melt just walking to the car. I hope SG enjoys his new office chair. I’m thinking of replacing mine. It doesn’t fall backwards but instead sinks, and I have to keep puling the chair back up again.
After I read all of the comments, I was going to write “food porn” myself, but I had already seen it in the comments. Those photos are truly outstanding. I am glad the driver didn’t renege on his promise to deliver the chair, though he was late.
If I had places around here to eat at like that, I would be there daily! Those dishes all look incredible and healthy to boot!
