I recently came upon the above photo online. As I suspected, our current water garden used to be a fountain. I like it better that way, but I have a feeling it was being used as a wading pool which must have brought up so many safety issues. When we arrived two years ago, it was empty and waiting for its new life.
I returned to the dentist this morning to have impressions done of my teeth for my new retainers. Piece of cake (hmmm, that sounds good). I wandered a bit after the appointment. I had to; the temperature was 20˚C/68˚F and it’s only going up to around 28˚C/82˚F.

• I had the hardest time figuring out what the hell Mr. Tooth (Sr. Diente) was holding over his head. I had to ask Sandra to explain it to me.
• Me costó muchísimo averiguar qué diablos sostenía el Sr. Diente sobre su cabeza. Tuve que pedirle a Sandra que me lo explicara.

• My fresh mouth.
• Mi boca fresca.

• Ayer compartí una imagen de un tendedero en un edificio de viviendas de Brooklyn de los años 50. Aquí está Córdoba en 2026.

A toothbrush or a razor, if you don’t use one, the dentist will threaten you with the other.
David:
It turns out it’s a toothbrush, but so badly done. I thought that was the tooth’s right arm holding something over his head.
Mr. Tooth could use a pair of those panties.
Debra:
Mr. Tooth doesn’t rate Calvin Kleins. He’d be wearing unbranded from Walmart.
I think it was better as a fountain but I see the safety issues. One kid drowns and they ruin it for everyone.
Your second breakfast has my mouth watering.
I see a toothbrush but someone explain how a tooth has hands!
I’d like to see the owner of the colorful undies!!
Bob:
Yes, I would have liked it as a fountain. Damned kids. Yeah, it’s a toothbrush. I thought that was the tooth’s right arm over his head. Creepy. Sorry to disappoint you but I am the owner of the colorful undies.
The poor schoolkids should be traumatised! And speaking of scary, “Mr Tooth” is not exactly going to encourage anyone to brush their teeth – even with a badly-drawn toothbrush – if they’re just going to be pulled out and start walking about on their own…
That “wildlife garden” looks exactly like what it is. An ugly patch of couch grass and weeds! Either restore the fountain or fill the lot in, I say. Jx
Jon:
The wildlife garden is a water garden. I’m guessing that they’re letting it settle for a couple of years to choke out the algae. It’s not pretty, which is surprising given what a beautiful job the city’s gardeners do. This is the second installation of the water garden since we moved here. Probably would have been better to jackhammer that entire construction and start again.
Look at your beautiful and super clean teeth! Excellent!
Now you KNOW I’d want all my children and grandchildren to go to the Badly Dead Woman Tower School.
I would have arm-wrestled you for that second breakfast. And then when I lost, I would have ordered my own.
I haven’t thought about that song in forever. Such a good one.
Mary Moon:
I never liked the minced ham in the past. Theirs is fresh and delicious (it‘s often dry) and doesn’t fall out of the tostada all over the plate.
He’s holding a toothbrush. I give my little dog a ‘greenie’, a breath freshener/dental thing. I’d been giving them to her for over a year before I realized they were shaped like a toothbrush.
I think I’d prefer the water garden if they kept it a little tidier, pull out some of that algae. Of course it will grow right back.
ellen abbott:
I thought that was the tooth’s right arm over his head. The artist could have done a better job on the bristles. I’m not clear on the water garden. This is their second attempt. I THINK they’re letting the plants take over to choke out the algae. I don’t like it. Besides, it appears to be an excellent breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Well… what is el Señor Diente holding up in his hand? I don’t get it 🙁
No no no, I would not want to be going to (or teaching at) a school with that name. Ha!
Judy C:
I was told that’s a toothbrush. I thought it was his arm holding something over his head. Where are the bristles? So bad in so many ways. I graduated from Lizzie Borden Took an Axe School!
Is Mr. Tooth holding a box of Kleenex to staunch the blood when the dentist has to pull out the rotten teeth of children who don’t brush?
Tundra Bunny:
Yours is a much better take than holding a toothbrush!
I assume that’s a toothbrush in Mr. Tooth’s left hand, but I have no idea what that thing over his head is. Unless it’s an outlet, with a cord coming down to an electric toothbrush in his right hand?
The water garden is a good idea but it looks like it needs some work. Maybe because it’s fall and it’s at the end of its season. (I’m going to be charitable and believe that.)
Steve:
The thing over his head is supposedly the bristles of the toothbrush. Awful. And I too see an electrical outlet or power box
This is the second installation of the water garden. I’ve learned from SG’s aquascape development that the plants could have the job of naturally controlling the algae which at this point is disgusting. The standing water is a perfect home for mosquito larvae. So, far, it just isn’t working for me.
At least someone has good taste in underwear, and I can only hope the owner of them is sexy and hot and fills them out nicely!!!!
Mistress Maddie:
Well, thank you. That’s my underwear. I’ll leave it to your imagination if I’m sexy and fill them out nicely.
