IT STORMED THIS morning. The two weather forecasts we read didn’t forecast rain… until it was here. Thunder and lightning. Very, very frightening for Moose and Dudo. We went out for coffee and didn’t get very wet. The sun eventually came out and I went for a walk in the afternoon under dramatic skies. I wore waterproof shoes made of Kevlar and a rain jacket with a hood. I also wore my Nike moisture-wicking running pants. I figured even if they weren’t waterproof, they’d be better than denim.
I walked on the beach for a mile or so, heard a very loud clap of thunder and headed home.
No surprise, moisture-wicking Nike running pants can only wick so much water. And waterproof shoes made of Kevlar are great as long as the rain doesn’t soak your moisture-wicking Nike pants and run down your ankles into your cotton socks.
