Last supperish / La última cena (más o menos)

La versión en español está después de la versión en inglés.

The view from the terrace Thursday night struck me as funny. A few extra disciples. Or maybe they’re just the serving staff.

After my exciting day Thursday, Friday and Saturday were not the best. Sciatica kicked up a bit. Still, I did what I could. Right now, the sciatica is at its worst when I sit. I do what I can. Folding laundry is especially exciting. I’m off the paracetamol. The cure became worse than what is was supposed to cure. Progress is being made. Sometimes my attitude sucks. Sometimes it doesn’t. All Dudo and Moose want to know is if it’s time for treats.

A veces mi actitud apesta. A veces no. Todo lo que Dudo y Moose quieren saber es si es hora de aperetivos.

  1. I bet the lady in the yellow top would give the boys people food treats. She looks like she would.

  2. Hi, we feel your pain and angst. I came across something interesting yesterday, that some people have had relief from sciatica by juicing. Worth trying to get some micronutrients inside you. I’m sure you’ll try anything by now.

    1. Karen,
I wouldn’t try juicing. Too many potentially unhealthy side effects… and not good for diabetics either. Nothing has really made a difference for me except strength training and stretching, which keep it at bay. I’m hopeful the neurosurgeon will have some other ideas.

  3. Oh no, sorry to hear about the sciatica returning. The surgery sounded so promising. I can totally empathize as I’ve had lower back issues since I fell flat on my butt roller skating in 1986. Some days are better than others but it’s hard to function when your back doesn’t work. Pooey. Just know that I’m thinking of you and sending healing vibes! Looks like your sense of humor is intact though: love your comments on that image of the “last supperish” 😃

    1. tobyo,
Since 1986? That’s a long time to suffer! Have you roller skated since then?

      1. I have not and I actually tossed those roller skates(in a hurry moving so didn’t have time to give them away). And it hasn’t bothered me consistently since 1986, I should have mentioned that. That’s just when it started. I keep it under control with back exercises and walking and my “episodes” are few but I am aging so….might need surgery some day.

        1. tobyo:
San Geraldo’s mother was buried with her rolling skates. So glad your pain is not constant and can mostly be managed. I couldn’t imagine living with that all these years.

          1. oh my gosh! so interesting about SG’s mother! and thank you. I went 3 years without an episode since I’ve been doing these exercises. when the episode happened I went back to acupuncture and that helps, for now.

    1. Bob,
They are sweethearts. Sometimes they stare at me when they don’t want a treat. At least I THINK they don’t want a treat.

    1. Debra:
Yep. I thought he was Hay-soos, which is Jesus here anyway. Didn’t Jesus wear a Speedo?

  4. Ha, that is a funny scene when you look at it that way 🙂
We’re all pulling for you, Mitchell.

    1. Judy C,
Thanks! The wound is healing beautifully. All is going well except the sciatica, which is at least nowhere near as bad as it was.

    1. Deedles:
Thanks, sweetheart. I can actually hug now… as long as no one hugs back. (That’s how my mother used to do it.)

  5. As one who also suffers from chronic pain, I empathize. (with the mood AND the pain) I hope seeing those sweet faces staring at you all the time brings you joy, if not relief!

    1. Kelly,
So sorry about your chronic pain. It does suck! The cats do make me feel loved. Dudo comes up on the bed and comes within an inch of my face to stare right into my eyes. My heart melts.

    1. Steve,
I thought the kid might be Judas, too. I wish Jesus in the pink Speedo had come upstairs, slapped his hand on my forehead, and proclaimed Heal!

    1. Mcpersonalspace54,
The sciatica pain was so much worse. I’m grateful it’s eased off. Still, I wish it would disappear. This recovery would be amazing otherwise.

  6. Dammit it all to hell, the surgery was supposed to make the pain go away. Tell the surgeon I said so and I expect him to make it better. Dudo and Moose, hang in there with Daddy.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. janiejunebug,
I went into the surgery thinking I didn’t have sciatica. Although t went perfectly, this wasn’t the recovery I had hoped for. We’re hoping the surgeon will now be able to help with the sciatica, but have to wait more days to see him.

  7. The guy in the red speedo looks like he’s praying not to get Ptomaine to go, LOL!

    1. Tundra Bunny,
Every time he emptied a plate, someone would give him more. I think he was saying “Make them stop.”

  8. I am having some of the same problems… The cure has not really worked but has helped with the pain, Losing sight in my right eye but I have some wild and crazy blobs and sparkling lights in both eyes. Hope your feeling better soon,,,
Love the kitties FABULOUS as always !

    1. Anon,
Glad the cure has helped with the pain. So sorry to know about what else it brought.

    1. Wicked Hamster:
Thanks! I’ll coast on astute and clever for the rest of the week.

    1. Kirk:
Oh, wouldn’t that be great. May not be easy from this distance, but I’ll look for more classics.
