We were out for dinner last night at La Fabbrica with Tynan and Elena. It was so good to be with them and so good to be with them there. We met for breakfast this morning and their amazing daughter Paula joined us with her good friend, Belén. I’ll tell more eventually but I’m in a rush to share these photos before I have a siesta.
I plan to meet Elena and Tynan by the river this evening for a couple of hours at the fair before we all go to dinner. The temperature is hovering around 38˚C/100.4˚F and the humidity is currently 15%. Yes, it’s a dry heat. But it’s still heat.
The excitement, other than having our dear friends here, is that when we returned home from coffee, Moose was asleep on the rug on the terrace while Dudo slept on the sofa inside. Later, while we had lunch, both cats were on the terrace together. We are ecstatic. We ordered new rugs for the floor and for the chairs to add some more color and comfort. The flowers shown today are some of what we saw on our walk to El Comado de la Sultana, the cafe near home we go to at times like today. And now for a 1-hour siesta!

Moose looks like he surprised Dudo.
Kirk:
I think he did.And Dudo surprised us all when he Moose stay.
I’m in awe of your 15% humidity. I can’t imagine….
I really want to scoop up one of those kitties. Bad move, I know.
KellY:
I often want to scoop one up, too.The little stinkers.
The flowers are spectacular. Also the heat. Even dry, I think I couldn’t handle it, even for a fair. Good for you for handling and enjoying it, too.
I think that was me, Boud.
Nice to see The Boys using the new space!!
Bob:
Yes! It makes us happy.
Here’s the thing with dry heat- you don’t realize how very hot it is until you suddenly just pass out from it. At least here with our sauna conditions, we know it’s hot and can only tolerate being in it for so long.
Those zinnias are unbelievable.
Enjoy your beloveds’ visit.
Oh Mitchell. I’m sorry that was me, Mary Moon. I fear I have cooked my brain with our sauna heat.
Mary Moon:
Don’t worry. My brain is fried and I keep falling asleep at the computer!
Mary Moon:
Yeah, but it’s a dry heat is always a funny thing to say. However, no missing how hot it is here. Those flowers are lantanas. I love them.
Moose loves a glory hole! Jx
PS Those Lantana flowers are everywhere in Spain – but on mass like that, they’re impressive!
Jon:
Lantana was all over Southern California, too, but yes the mass is amazing.
Jon:
Dudo does. Moose not so much.
What an array of colour in that flower display.
And good to see ‘the boys’ together on the terrace.
Jim:
So happy to see them both out there… and together!
Cats are such a mystery. I wonder if you put a cat post on the balcony if they would use it. One would think thy would enjoy the view.
Claudia:
We’ve considered getting cat tree for the terrace. They would definitely use that (I say with certainty… ha!).
Oh, those Krazy Kats! I think they’ll get to love the terrace and then they’ll only come out at mealtimes…
I’m glad to hear you get breezes from the mountains — otherwise those temperatures would be unbearable!
There’s a very heavy blanket of smoke here today from all the forest fires on the northern prairies. I can still smell it even with all the windows closed and the A/C on! But climate change is just a hoax, right?!!
Tundra Bunny:
We experienced some smokey days in our lives from nearby fires. Unnerving and unhealthy. Ten years ago, Jim Inhofe, an idiot senator from Oklahoma brought a snowball in from outside to prove global warming was a hoax.
Stunning flowers!
Walt the Fourth:
Lantana is so common, but can still be so spectacular.
Sleep well. Oh such a pretty place.
David:
Boy did I sleep!
Such a beautiful expanse of flowers! I love seeing those boys out on the wonderful terrace 🙂
Judy C:
They like it now!
A hundred degrees! Oh, Lord, no. I have become way too British to tolerate that.
Funny how Dudo is scoping out the drain! He’s learned there could be goodies in there!
Steve:
Dudo never misses a drain now. Before we installed the glass curtain in Fuengirola, birds would sit on the pipe and then fly onto the terrace. He learned quickly. (But it’s a dry heat.)
I love lantanas! I’ve killed a few in my day, but they are generally hardy, I just have a black thumb. We had a purple one when we lived on Lantana. It basically took care of itself until it noticed its companions croaking. It got lonely and self-destructed. maybe it got thirsty. Anyway, these are gorgeous!
Deedles:
Lantana is one of the flowers I remember seeing all over Southern California.
Oh, that huge gorgeous bank of flowers!
Debra:
Yes, it’s uplifting.
