I made my final visit yesterday to Casa Simon to pick up some goodies for our road trip. I will definitely stop by whenever we’re back in town. If you’re in Fuengirola, check them out. Grains, cereals, teas, spices, dried fruit and nuts, and most importantly for us, chocolate covered fruit and nuts! I bought unsalted roasted almonds, chocolate-covered raisins for San Geraldo, sugar-free dried ginger for me, and then I remembered their dark chocolate–covered blueberries. Oh dear goddess! Magically, dark chocolate–covered almonds appeared in my bag. We might even have something left for the drive to Córdoba. Casa Simon is a family affair and they’re the warmest, kindest, and most knowledgeable family. It’s worth a visit.
Sunday lunch at Elena and Tynan’s was a tapas feast and you can see all the delectables below. Isa made and brought the croquetas and Elena fried them. Isa also baked a lemon cake and provided vanilla ice cream and “cream” [nata] ice cream.
Today has already been a bit hectic. Tomorrow morning, the packers arrive and, although it will be hectic, we won’t have much to do. San Geraldo will disappear to the hotel much of the time and I will oversee without getting in the way. Tonight, however, we have dinner at Primavera to look forward to with Lulu, Rita, and Anne. Wednesday evening we´ll meet Lars (who is here briefly from Denmark) for coffee or a drink at Ilunión, the hotel 3 minutes away where we already have a room.
San Geraldo is currently having his final siesta in this apartment before going to pick up the rental car. Dudo and Moose definitely know something’s going on. But it doesn’t stop them from demanding treats, and devouring them.
I don’t know when I’ll next have time to post. Meanwhile, keep a good thought for us four cool cats. Córdoba is coming soon!
Ayer hice mi última visita a Casa Simon para comprar algunas cosas para nuestro viaje por carretera. Definitivamente pasaré por allí cuando volvamos a la ciudad. Si estás en Fuengirola, échales un vistazo. Granos, cereales, tés, especias, frutos secos y frutas secas, y lo más importante para nosotros, ¡fruta y frutos secos cubiertos de chocolate! Compré almendras tostadas sin sal, pasas cubiertas de chocolate para San Geraldo, jengibre seco sin azúcar para mí, y luego me acordé de sus arándanos cubiertos de chocolate negro. ¡Oh, Dios mío! Mágicamente, aparecieron almendras cubiertas de chocolate negro en mi bolso. Incluso puede que nos quede algo para el viaje a Córdoba. Casa Simon es un asunto familiar y son la familia más cálida, amable y conocedora. Vale la pena una visita.
El almuerzo del domingo en casa de Elena y Tynan fue un festín de tapas y puedes ver todas las delicias a continuación. Isa hizo y trajo las croquetas y Elena las frió. Isa también ha preparado un pastel de limón y ha preparado helado de vainilla y helado de nata.
Hoy ya ha sido un día un poco agitado. Mañana por la mañana llegan los empacadores y, aunque será un día agitado, no tendremos mucho que hacer. San Geraldo se pasará la mayor parte del tiempo en el hotel y yo supervisaré sin estorbar. Esta noche, sin embargo, tenemos una cena en Primavera con Lulu, Rita y Anne. El miércoles por la noche nos encontraremos con Lars (que está aquí brevemente desde Dinamarca) para tomar un café o una copa en Ilunión, el hotel a 3 minutos de distancia donde ya tenemos una habitación.
San Geraldo está haciendo su última siesta en este apartamento antes de ir a recoger el coche de alquiler. Dudo y Moose saben que algo está pasando. Pero eso no les impide pedir golosinas y devorarlas.
No sé cuándo volveré a tener tiempo para publicar. Mientras tanto, tened un buen recuerdo de nosotros cuatro gatos geniales. ¡Córdoba llega pronto!
