I made my final visit yesterday to Casa Simon to pick up some goodies for our road trip. I will definitely stop by whenever we’re back in town. If you’re in Fuengirola, check them out. Grains, cereals, teas, spices, dried fruit and nuts, and most importantly for us, chocolate covered fruit and nuts! I bought unsalted roasted almonds, chocolate-covered raisins for San Geraldo, sugar-free dried ginger for me, and then I remembered their dark chocolate–covered blueberries. Oh dear goddess! Magically, dark chocolate–covered almonds appeared in my bag. We might even have something left for the drive to Córdoba. Casa Simon is a family affair and they’re the warmest, kindest, and most knowledgeable family. It’s worth a visit.
Sunday lunch at Elena and Tynan’s was a tapas feast and you can see all the delectables below. Isa made and brought the croquetas and Elena fried them. Isa also baked a lemon cake and provided vanilla ice cream and “cream” [nata] ice cream.
Today has already been a bit hectic. Tomorrow morning, the packers arrive and, although it will be hectic, we won’t have much to do. San Geraldo will disappear to the hotel much of the time and I will oversee without getting in the way. Tonight, however, we have dinner at Primavera to look forward to with Lulu, Rita, and Anne. Wednesday evening we´ll meet Lars (who is here briefly from Denmark) for coffee or a drink at Ilunión, the hotel 3 minutes away where we already have a room.
San Geraldo is currently having his final siesta in this apartment before going to pick up the rental car. Dudo and Moose definitely know something’s going on. But it doesn’t stop them from demanding treats, and devouring them.
I don’t know when I’ll next have time to post. Meanwhile, keep a good thought for us four cool cats. Córdoba is coming soon!

We are VOTING today!
J Chabot:
I hope our votes make a difference!
I wish you both much happiness in your new home. Love the Tapas images, great food. Happy trails to Cordoba.
larrymuffin:
The trail to Córdoba was enhances by Moose’s non-stop yowling.
Safe travels, I look forward to hearing updates.
David:
Two steps forward, one step back!
Ah, the food is so beautiful. Happy trails, friends! We’ll hear from you when next you can. Boud.
Boud:
Well, we’ve got internet in the apartment… although SG’s isn’t doing what it should and he’s closer to the modem!
That tapas must tast heavenly 🙂
Looking forward to see pic from your new home. Bamseklem ( big big hug)to both of you 🥰
Nothing going without a hitch, but we’re slowly making progress.
Best of luck with the move to Cordoba! I’d love to visit that chocolate and nut shop!
Carole:
I found the Palace of Sweets a few minutes away.
Not sure why some of my comments are still going in as Anonymous. It’s Carole.
Good luck with the move. So excited for you guys. I hope everything goes smoothly and you have fun setting up your new digs!
This is Sassybear, by the way.
Sassybear:
We haven’t yet reached the fun part of setting up the digs. Right now, it’s mostly emptying boxes wherever there’s a free surface. What a mess.
I am so excited for the four cool cats! Safe travels and best of luck on your move. I can’t wait to hear out everything goes.
Michael:
What matters is that we made it! The cats are happy. We’re happy to be here, but wish we had a staff to do everything that needs doing.
Moving is an intricate process, but I know you are well aware of that!
Moose and Dudo- “There’s something happenin’ here. What it is ain’t exactly clear…”
I almost cried reading this post. I don’t think I could leave all those dear people behind. I know you will be back to visit and I know you will make new friends but all of these people seem so very special.
Meanwhile- safe travels.
Moonsigh
Don’t cry for us, Argentina Moonsigh. We’re exhausted. Some things went smoothly. Some were comical (after the fact). But we’ve got internet and the cats are happy again. What more could we ask for?
Wishing you a smooth and carefree move to your new home! May you find the same happiness and new friends as you found in Fuengirola!
Debra:
We made it! Loving it here. The apartment is a disaster area. The cats are fine. We’re exhausted.
I’m glad you’re making the most of your final days in Fuengirola. Good luck with the big move! Let us know how it goes ASAP!
Steve:
We have so far survived. Cats are doing great. We need about two days of sleep.
Cool cats, indeed! Thanks for these final photos of the sky… I’ll be thinking about you this week! 🤞
Kelly:
We made it and we have internet. Lots more to come!
Wishing you the best on your move. You may have noticed (or not) that I’ve been stopping by less frequently. I’ve also been blogging myself much less frequently. Some days the “activities of daily living” take up most of my time and energy. You will continue to be in my blog feed, so I will at least get a synopsis of your posts. So once again, I wish you and Geraldo the best.
Frank:
Thanks!
Food porn!!! Yummy.
It sounds like you have everything in hand and everything planned so I’m certain things will go smoothly … even with The Boys on a road trip!
Good luck and see you on the other side!
Bob:
Oh, Moose was NOT good company in the car. You’ll hear more about that soon. But the boys have made themselves at home in the mess.
Indeed! What a FEAST!
Have a safe and speedy move!
The cats will LOVE their place I am certain.
Jim:
We’re wrung out. The cats are happy, and clingy. Progress is being made.
Those tapas pics make my mouth water! British sausage rolls, black pudding and sausages on the same table as Spanish delicacies? Yes please!
Good luck in your move, and we all look forward to the “new chapter” in Cordoba! Jx
Jon:
Yes, a Spanish/British household. New stories and photos coming soon.
Goodluck!!! Hope all goes as planned for you. Savor that sunset.
Mistress Borghese:
Thunder and lightning and lots of rain since we arrived… even in Málaga. Waiting for a good sunrise or sunset.
Look at that food! Nothing carrying along enough provisions for a long trip. If this is your last post for a while, then good luck in your new digs.
Kirk:
It took longer to connect to blogging than I expected. More to come.
Oh, happy travels! Olivia
Olivia:
We’re reconnected. Lots more to come. Already a big adventure.
Happy trails and safe travels, my friend, til we meet again.
Shirley:
Finally wired! Lots of pictures and stories to share.
Best wishes to you both. See you on the flip side!
Walt the Fourth:
Well, we’ve flipped. Finally connected and will share lots in the coming days.

I too hope for a smooth as possible transition to the new abode.
Urspo:
It’s going. Not completely smoothly, but it never does.
I’m catching up on blog posts, so I know you’ve moved by now. I hope it went well. Save some dark chocolate covered blueberries for me. I can’t think of anything much more heavenly. I’m looking forward to your next post from your new home.
Love,
Janie
janiejunebug:
Just got wired at home. Halleluljah! What dark chocolate covered blueberries? oh yeah… Oops.
When you have a chance go to Youtube and see the entry on Kenopsia.
Get well soon guys…!

Jan from Perth:
Oh, it’s quite a ride, but we’re surviving and sometimes thriving. Happy to be in Córdoba.
