We hadn’t seen our pals Luke and Beckett, and their parents, Kathleen and Pedro, in months. Two teachers with two kids in school and there’s always some bug being passed around. Then they took a summer vacation. They returned just when I left the hospital. And then Pedro had a cold. But finally this morning they spent some time on our beach and I went down and visited.
Pedro kindly demonstrated (and critiqued) the different ways to wear shorts. But he has no clue why it’s done either. Meanwhile, the boys can be seen in the background building a fortress to hold back the surf.
It’s hot again today but not very humid. I thought I’d enjoy the beach and then a walk. But when I bent over to put my shoes back on, I felt like I was going to pass out. The one remnant of my surgery is poor muscle tone and a serious lack of stamina. So, it’s been another day in the air conditioning. Still seeing the family was worth a bit of dizziness.
Dudo and Moose just had their third treats of the day. Moose has gone to sleep in San Geraldo’s office. Dudo wants me to have a siesta with him. He lasts all of 15 minutes in the bedroom air conditioning. I don’t want a siesta, but I can manage 15 minutes for Dudo. Oh well, Moose is up again and wants to go out on the terrace. He’ll last three minutes.
No habíamos visto a nuestros amigos Luke y Beckett, y a sus padres, Kathleen y Pedro, en meses. Dos maestros con dos niños en la escuela y siempre hay algún error que se transmite. Luego se tomaron unas vacaciones de verano. Regresaron justo cuando salí del hospital. Y luego Pedro se resfrió. Pero finalmente esta mañana pasaron algún tiempo en nuestra playa y bajé y los visité.
Pedro amablemente demostró (y criticó) las diferentes formas de usar pantalones cortos. Pero tampoco tiene idea de por qué se hace. Mientras tanto, se puede ver a los niños en el fondo construyendo una fortaleza para contener las olas.
Hace calor de nuevo hoy pero no muy húmedo. Pensé que disfrutaría de la playa y luego de un paseo. Pero cuando me agaché para volver a ponerme los zapatos, sentí que me iba a desmayar. El único remanente de mi cirugía es un tono muscular deficiente y una grave falta de resistencia. Entonces, ha sido otro día en el aire acondicionado. Seguir viendo a la familia valía la pena un poco de vértigo.
Dudo y Moose acaban de recibir su tercer aperetivo del día. Moose se ha ido a dormir a la oficina de San Geraldo. Dudo quiere que duerma una siesta con él. Dura todo de 15 minutos en el aire acondicionado del dormitorio. No quiero una siesta, pero puedo manejar 15 minutos para Dudo. Bueno, Moose ha vuelto a levantarse y quiere salir a la terraza. Durará tres minutos.
