My appointment with the nephrologist went fine Tuesday. No surprise. My medication dosage has been increased slightly again, but all is well. And I PROMISE I will not go online to check my lab results before I see the doctor. I’ll be back to Málaga for my November appointment, but she gave me the name of a nephrologist in Córdoba and I hope to connect quickly.
Santi and Yoshua (click here) picked up the rest of the flower pots from the terrace, a storage cabinet, and the two large aloe vera planters. I expected to hear screaming but neither of them got stabbed. The aloe vera always attacks me. Fortunately, it has its own built-in treatment plan. The guys also took any junk that needed to be tossed. We are so grateful to them. It looks like we’re moving.
I’m waiting to hear from the mover today to see if we can get a firm date. It’s complicated by the 7th-floor delivery in Córdoba, the moving elevator, and the permit. We had been told by the rep that he was aiming for the week of 21 of October and we hope that’s still the case.
We had a very pleasant visit with friends Pauline and Reg at Mesón Salvador. They used to often meet there to start their day so we would see them regularly. We will now sometimes bump into them when they’re having a drink at a sidewalk cafe nearby, but we haven’t sat and visited in ages. It was great to just chat for a while.
I now have to find a home for our sofa/divan. It’s fake leather and hasn’t aged well in its sunny spot. It’s also much bigger and heavier than we like, and we want to replace it with two 2-seater sofas. I had hoped Yoshua would want it for his new apartment but he already has a new sofa.
I’ve shared terrace views from Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The title of this post is from an old-time comic strip and cartoon that included the character Barney Google with the goo goo googly eyes. I’ve shared two songs below. The first is the Barney Google song and the second is the theme from the cartoon show, Snuffy Smith, which I had to sing to The Kid Brother constantly when we traveled as children. He still makes me sing.
I JUST RECEIVED A MESSAGE from the mover. Packing and loading will take place here the 23rd and 24th of October. Unloading in Córdoba will occur Friday the 25th. NOW it feels real.
Mi cita con la nefróloga el martes fue bien, no me sorprende. Me han aumentado la dosis de la medicación un poco, pero todo está bien. Y PROMETO que no me conectaré a Internet para comprobar los resultados de mis análisis antes de ver al médico. Volveré a Málaga para mi cita de noviembre, pero me dio el nombre de un nefrólogo de Córdoba y espero ponerme en contacto rápidamente.
Santi y Yoshua (haz clic aquí) recogieron el resto de las macetas de la terraza, un armario de almacenamiento y las dos grandes macetas de aloe vera. Esperaba oír gritos, pero ninguno de ellos fue apuñalado. El aloe vera siempre me ataca. Afortunadamente, tiene su propio plan de tratamiento incorporado. Los tipos también se llevaron toda la basura que había que tirar. Les estamos muy agradecidos. Parece que nos vamos a mudar.
Estoy esperando a tener noticias de la empresa de mudanzas hoy para ver si podemos conseguir una fecha firme. Es complicado por la entrega en el séptimo piso en Córdoba, el ascensor de la mudanza y el permiso. El representante nos había dicho que quería que fuera la semana del 21 de octubre y esperamos que siga siendo así.
Tuvimos una visita muy agradable con nuestros amigos Pauline y Reg en Mesón Salvador. Solían reunirse allí para empezar el día, así que los veíamos con regularidad. A veces nos los encontramos cuando están tomando algo en una cafetería cercana, pero hace mucho que no nos sentamos a charlar. Fue genial charlar un rato.
Ahora tengo que encontrar un hogar para nuestro sofá/diván. Es de cuero sintético y no ha envejecido bien en su lugar soleado. También es mucho más grande y pesado de lo que nos gusta, y queremos reemplazarlo con dos sofás de dos plazas. Tenía la esperanza de que Yoshua lo quisiera para su nuevo apartamento, pero ya tiene un sofá nuevo.

He compartido dos canciones a continuación.
