Yesterday, between siestas, I did laundry and hauled down the trash and recycling (which I didn’t have the energy to do Monday). Early this morning, I texted Merchi to cancel her day here. San Geraldo wasn’t feeling up to going out for coffee. I’m not the picture of health, but I thought I could have managed. I then went back to bed and slept until noon. Maybe I’ll pick up some Covid tests today. At least so we know.
We ordered our new terrace furniture. I hope it gets here quickly. We’ll give away our current furniture which is in excellent condition. We were considering L-shaped seating or a loveseat and two chairs plus a low table, but decided we don’t have a lot of use for all that and it would fill up the small terrace. Our current four-seat table and chairs fit for good seating, but leave little room to walk around. So we ordered two cool-looking and comfy (I hope) chairs and a small table. Oh, yeah, we also bought a narrow free-standing garden shelving unit for the wall.
I’d love to visit some more of the patios of Córdoba before the weekend when there’s too much competition for space. We’ll see. The event ends Sunday, so it’s sure to be a crazy weekend which I’ll avoid. But, I’m not quite sure I have the energy for the patios right now.
Córdoba’s annual fair begins 24 May and runs for a week. We’ll have to experience the craziness (and beauty) at least once. It’s south of the city center, more than a 20-minute walk to the river and then another 20 minutes south of there. Meanwhile, here are more views of recent explorations in this fabulous city.

I hope you are feeling better soon. It is pretty there, more places I need to visit.
David Godfrey:
Doing much better every day. Have you noticed how much I love it here?
I hope you both feel better soon. It’s a virus, no doubt, that lack of energy. There are a lot of them around, but good idea to test for covid.
Cordoba is endlessly interesting. How did you decide to live there?
Boud
Boud:
Thanks. We tested for Covid and Flu yesterday and were negative for both. That was a relief. Improving every day. As for living here: We had always liked Córdoba and simply starting looking at other options for remaining in Andalusia. The Costa del Sol is getting more crowded and much more expensive. But we still wanted good transportation and convenience to an airport. We considered a few villages and small cities, including Granada. Córdoba checked all the boxes… except for the summer heat. We’ll manage that.
I hope you both feel better and more energized soon! I’ve never read the lyrics to “I Get Around” before. Hmmm.
Debra:
Yes, those lyrics. The values I was raised on.
What a selection of beautiful pictures of flowers and architecture to start my morning! I could live there, I’m sure of it. Those window boxes are stunning on the one home.
Mistress Borghese:
You would love it here, I’m sure.
I’m sending positive vibes that you both start feeling better soon.
An dget back to those fabulous little streets and gardens so I can get my architecture fix!
Bob:
We’re improving every day. Thanks
Well, I just realized I had no idea what the lyrics were to I Get Around. I love them! They’re so of the time! Golly. What a great group. The harmonies are so fantastic.
I hope you guys feel better today. Colds can take awhile to shake and you are wise to test for Covid. Just to see, yes.
Do you ever get lost on those beautiful streets? I surely would. No sense of direction at all.
Ms. Moon
Ms. Moon:
The harmonies were great. The messages, not so much … in hindsight. More improvement today. Thanks. I haven’t yet gotten lost in Córdoba. For me, at least, it’s easy to navigate. In Seville, I got lost daily. The streets wound in all directions. A direct line was rare. I often found myself walking in a complete circle.
Ooh, beautiful sites in these photos of yours, Mitchell 🙂 Hoping you two are both feeling better soon. I LOVED those shadow photos from the previous post… so cool. I am in love with the vista that you have from that fabulous terrace, and can’t wait to see it with the new furniture (though it looks great with what you have!).
Judy C:
We’re grateful for the view, and all the natural light. We’re both now improving daily, but our colds are taking more time to leave than it did arrive.
I never knew “I get around” had anything to do with making bread. I am so dense.
Frank D:
LOL. The Beach Boys baked!
May you be in perfect health for the annual fair.
Kirk:
Thanks. We will clearly be completely well by then. Each day shows improvement.
What an utterly gorgeous place Cordoba is! Jx
Jon:
Truly. And I haven’t only been sharing the perfectly polished tourist streets.
I hope it’s just a cold and you both feel better soon. I’m looking forward to photos of the new patio arrangement.
Kelly:
The terrace side table arrived today, and now needs to be assembled. Can’t wait for the rest. We’re both improving each day.
What a beautiful city! Hope you get a chance to see/celebrate the annual Fair.
Now, get well.
‘I Get Around’ brings back summer nights back in the mid-60’s. Thanks.
Jim:
I did love The Beach Boys when I was a kid and when I got to university they were part of the Oldies playing all over; my friends and I sang along. They even did a concert at our campus.
Every post makes me more convinced I should visit!
Steve:
Of course I usually share the best of what I see. But there is so much that’s the best! We would love to see you here.
