Are you awake? / ¿Estás dispierto?

La versión en español está después de la versión en inglés.

THE CATS GET TREATS TWICE a day. I’ve told you how demanding they can be when I give them their once early afternoon/now mid-morning treats. But I don’t know if I’ve told you about their middle-of-the-night treats from San Geraldo.

I don’t know how the routine began, but it had gotten so out of hand that a few minutes after SG fell asleep he was awakened by cats demanding their treats. Three in the morning, two, one. SG finally had the brilliant idea to simply give them that round of treats before he went to bed. And that has worked perfectly. Although, of course they now get quite annoying after 11 p.m. (23:00). Still, that’s better than being forced out of bed in the middle of the night. Since they now get those treats earlier than they used to, they figure it’s only fair that I give them the daytime treats earlier, as well. I’ve agreed to a 9:30 treat time and I wait for Dudo to notice the clock chimes.

This morning, I was up at 8 (when I took the sunrise photo) but went back to bed until 9. Moose stood guard outside the door while Dudo joined me in bed, but not close enough for petting. I opened my eyes to today’s first image.

Yesterday was another beautiful day (as is today) with lots of people enjoying the beach, the sea, the cafés, and the breezes. Lots of kites and wind surfers. The day even made some people feel like dancing.

Oh, hi!!!
Oh, ¡¡¡hola!!!
Sunbathers breaking wind?
Bañistas, ¿rompiendo el viento?
I have no idea.
No tengo ni idea.

  1. Barely awake due to time change…….
    WOW to the sunrise photo!
    Dudo, you are lovely!
    Summer has begun for you.
Should have joined in that dance practice.
    have a good day.

    1. Jim:
So many people on the beach and paseo yesterday. Nice to see. As for joining in that dance practice: The foot stomping and the sciatica… not a good combination. I DID clap for them and thank them, though!

  2. lil pink nose!
    great sunrise shot!
this old fart is REALLY feeling the time change; spouse has gone back to bed.
now we need some disco dancing on the playa!

No time change here until the 28th. Last year… and the year before… I read that 2021 would be Europe’s last year for it, but I haven’t heard anything this year. The sunrise shot was a quick snap with my phone.

    1. Debra:
Always! Speak of the devil, it’s 9:21 and he just came back in my office to sit on the ledge and stare. 9 minutes to go.

  3. Dudo!!! We just keep the same time all year here. Makes life much easier. The sunrise here this time of year is a few minutes after 6AM. The silver-haired lady in the middle has clearly done those dance steps before. Looks like fun.

    1. Wilma:
We don’t change our clocks until the 28th. I’d read for two years that 2021 would be the year Europe stops changing clocks. Haven’t read anything this year. The dance class does look like fun. I watched for a while. She’s a wonderful teacher.

  4. Look at that cute pink cat nose!

The shorts-with-one-leg-shorter thing, once again, has me really puzzled. I’m wondering if I’ll see it when I go to Florida. Does it happen everywhere that people wear shorts and I’ve just never noticed? Do you see it simply because you’re looking for it? Or is it a Fuengirola-specific thing? Hmmm…

    1. Steve:
The one-leg-shorter thing? I don’t know. I see it here more than anywhere else. I did grab a shot of it once when I was on the Coney Island boardwalk a few years ago. I DO look for it. But, I usually don’t have to look far.

  5. That cowboy statuette you featured before, I have decided gives me the willies. Sort of creepy.

On a side note, a neighbor was walking through the car lot yesterday with one pant leg up and one down. I hope that trend is not starting here now. What’s next? Crocs? I shutter to even think.

    1. Mistress Borghese:
I hadn’t really thought about it, but it IS a little creepy. No photo of the guy with one pant leg up and one down?!? I did share a photo of someone in Coney Island in recent years. But, still, Fuengirola seems to be the official home to this fashion trend.

    1. Walt the Fourth:
And that was just a poor snapshot with my phone. It WAS a beauty.
