WHILE ON VACATION with his girlfriend, Silvana, my cousin Brad got in touch and they stopped off for a visit along their way. Brad is my cousin Lori’s son and Jerry and I were about to move from Boston to California when he was born, so we didn’t see much of each other over the years. Not even once a year. The only reason I could recognize him was because my mother received a family photo every year. (That and the fact that he’s the spitting image of his father.) We went to dinner at our favorite place, Mesón Salvador, where Brad and Silvana got to meet some of our Spanish family. After dinner, we all got to talk with my wonderful Aunt Millie (who Brad and his siblings call ‘G-Ma’). An evening filled with love, new connections, and great conversation. All as delicious as the food.
MIENTRAS VACACIONES CON su novia, Silvana, mi primo Brad nos llamó y se detuvieron para una visita a lo largo de sus viajes. Brad es el hijo de mi prima Lori, y Jerry y yo estábamos a punto de mudarnos de Boston a California cuando él nació, así que no nos vimos mucho el uno del otro durante los años. Una noche llena de amor, nuevas conexiones, y una gran conversación. Todo tan delicioso como la comida.
