That dirty water / Esa agua sucia

La versión en español está después de la versión en inglés.

It’s a beautiful day today after our 40 days and 40 nights of rain (or 7). I even went for a walk in an entire pair of sneakers this morning — no special shoe. I walked for an hour and went less than half my usual distance, but it sure was great to be out. That hour took it out of me. It was the first morning in a long time that I didn’t spend back in bed which is where you’ll find me shortly (if you should be so lucky).

Dudo, the jerk, figured out how to remove his cone last night. We haven’t been able to get a good look at his wound (he got nasty when San Geraldo tried to put the cone back on) but I’m hoping it’s healed enough to not be a problem. He’s got another appointment with the vet this evening (as if).

Last night’s sunset was other-worldly. And the fashionistas did not disappoint today.

• Last night’s sunset glowing in the southeastern and southern skies.
• La puesta de sol de anoche brillando en los cielos del sureste y sur.

• Don’t let Mr. Adorable fool you. He can be a real prick.
• No dejes que el Sr. Adorable te engañe. Puede ser un verdadero gilipollas.

  1. That IS an otherworldly sunset! I hope Dudo is healed enough that the cone is unnecessary — especially since he can now get it off himself. Clever boy!

    1. Steve:
Yes! Great news at the vet’s yesterday. Dudo is blissed out, as are we all.

  2. Such a pretty place with such stylish people. Glad to hear you had a good walk. Great skys, lots of dust settling in.

  3. What an amazing sunset! Those pictures are keepers. I see one of the fashionistos has adopted the French tuck to shorts, usually it’s for tops.

    1. I share photos regularly of the one-leg-tucked shorts. Let’s call it the Spanish tuck.

    1. Adam:
The things they do. I’m grateful Dudo took that long to bother figuring it out. I think he wasn’t feeling well enough until then.

  4. Saharan Dust sunset? Amazing.
Please tell me that all those fashion mavens you take pictures of are American tourists. I can’t bear the thought that the Spanish would be as tacky as we are here.

    1. MsMaryMoon:
I rarely see American tourists here. But, no worries. They’re usually British or Finnish tourists.

  5. Oh, Dudo! The cone, the special shoe – you both have escaped from your medical devices of torture!

    1. Wilma:
Dudo got a reprieve from the vet. This has already been a successful week!

  6. If that sunset doesn’t say Easter sunset i don’t know what does!!!! Our nice weather from last week and the weekend has ended….rain most of this week. But that fine…it will green everything nicely.

    1. Mistress Borghese:
It’s clouds mixed with sun here now and supposed to start warming up again tomorrow. Nice after all that rain.

  7. Wow! What a sunset! I am so pleased the weather’s finally taken a turn for the better on the Costa – everyone always cheers up a bit when the sun’s out… Jx

PS That Dudo’s a sneaky little so-and-so; learning escapology at his age!

    1. Jon:
I was surprised it took Dudo so long, but he wasn’t feeling well. However, he got the official release yesterday from the cone (as if he cared). I loved that we had so much rain, but we all needed a bit of sunshine.

  8. That sunset is beautiful! It put me in mind of scenes from Independence Day, though. Beware of aliens hiding their ships behind clouds.
Of course Dudo can be a real prick! He’s a cat and he’s male! It comes with the territory.

    1. Deedles:
You’re right about that sunset, It was magical and a bit foreboding. The color lasted all of 3 minutes I think. The vet cleared Dudo yesterday so he’s nothing but sweetness and bliss today.
