WE HAD A COUPLE OF days of hazy skies and I read that it was actually Sahara sands being blown our way. Fortunately, it didn’t rain or we would have had what looked like mud coming down from the sky.
I walked along the beach and then into the center of town yesterday. My plan was to get photos of the old-growth wisteria in bloom on Plaza de la Constitución. Although the trellis with white wisteria was lush, the purple ones hadn’t yet reached their full bloom. I’ll give it a few days and will visit again.
The bottle brush trees around town, however, are in glorious bloom. If we had hummingbirds, they’d be ecstatic. More tamarind trees have been removed and more palm trees have been planted. It’s nice to see living things on the Paseo.
I passed the still-closed Karma VIP Room. I hope it reopens. I like the idea of a club where people get served what they deserve — although I don’t think that’s the club’s tagline.
I couldn’t believe my timing with the surfer in the final pic. And now we’re off to visit Tynan for our morning coffee. Isabel will be here today, so she can observe Good Friday tomorrow.

TUVIMOS UNOS DÍAS DE CIELOS brumosos y leí que en realidad fueron las arenas del Sahara las que volaron en nuestro camino. Afortunadamente, no llovió o habríamos tenido lo que parecía barro cayendo del cielo.
Caminé por la playa y luego en el centro de la ciudad ayer. Mi plan era sacar fotos de las viejas glicinias en flor en la Plaza de la Constitución. Aunque el enrejado con glicinas blancas era exuberante, las púrpuras aún no habían alcanzado su plena floración. Le daré unos días y volveré a visitarlo.
Sin embargo, los árboles de cepillo de botella alrededor de la ciudad están floreciendo. Si tuviéramos colibríes, estarían encantados. Se han eliminado más tamarindos y se han plantado más palmeras. Es agradable ver seres vivos en el Paseo.
Pasé por la sala VIP Karma aún cerrada. Espero que vuelva a abrir. Me gusta la idea de un club donde la gente recibe lo que se merece, aunque no creo que ese sea el lema del club.
No podía creer mi sincronización con el surfista en la foto final. Y ahora nos vamos a visitar a Tynan para tomar nuestro café matutino. Isabel estará aquí hoy, para que mañana pueda observar el Viernes Santo.
